1959 Porsche Convertible D
2008 Porsche Parade Full Concourse winner
This remarkable 1959 Porsche 356 Roadster D was found by Classic Investments owner Stephen Bell in a barn nearby the Denver area some years back from only the second owner. The car’s owner had purchased it in 1985 from the original owner in California. After developing some engine issues, the car was stuffed 20 feet high on a pallet rack in a barn and was forgotten for 20 yrs.
A small advertisement in the local newspaper compelled Stephen to rush over and acquire it. While inspecting the car, the phone was ringing off the hook and suddenly the owner had offers from around the country. Classic Investments was forced to pay several thousand dollars extra for the car in order to buy it on the spot.
This Porsche was remarkable in the fact that it was very close to being complete with the original engine still intact.
Stephen had never planned to sell this gem and had intended to restore for himself until a client talked Stephen out of car and then commissioned Classic Investments to perform a restoration to the absolute highest level.
This restoration was painstakingly performed over a one and half year period with the sole intent of winning the world’s top Porsche Concourse competition.
This car won its class with a score of 295 out of possible 300 beating a Speedster that was undefeated in ten years of Concourse competition.
