FuoriConcorso 2025: A Celebration of Speed and Italian Racing Heritage at Lake Como

Every spring since 2019, the shores of Lake Como host some of the world’s most breathtaking classic automobiles. But few events capture the visceral emotion and mechanical brilliance of Italian motorsport like FuoriConcorso Velocissimo. Held May 24–25, 2025, across the grounds of Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota, this year’s edition was a full-throttle celebration of racing speed and design—aptly named Velocissimo, or “very fast.”

Presented as part of a cultural counterpoint to more traditional concours events like Villa d’Este, FuoriConcorso continues to carve out its identity by pushing boundaries. This isn’t your average lawn display of pre-war elegance. It’s a celebration of noise, heritage, and mechanical violence.

Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo Steals the Spotlight

This year’s headliner was without a doubt Alfa Romeo, whose historic racing lineup took over Villa Sucota in a spectacular tribute called Casa Alfa Romeo. From the early days of Grand Prix racing to modern endurance beasts, the brand’s motorsport DNA was on full display.

Highlights included:

  • 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport Zagato
  • 1951 Alfa Romeo 159 “Alfetta”, a Formula 1 icon
  • 1965 Giulia TZ2, with its featherweight frame and snarling four-cylinder
  • 1975 Alfa Romeo 33 TT 12, a World Sportscar Championship winner
  • 2010s Sauber F1 cars carrying Alfa’s modern legacy

Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati, and More

The Ferrari 250 GTO and 156 “Sharknose” were both present—and both breathtaking. So was the 499P, which secured Ferrari’s return to Le Mans dominance in 2024. The event also showcased a Ferrari F40 LM, bridging the gap between road and race in the most dramatic way possible.

From Lancia, we saw legends like the LC1, Delta HF Integrale, and Stratos Group 4 rally machine, each offering a snapshot of Italy’s fearsome rally heritage.

Maserati delivered the rarely seen 250S, as well as endurance legends like the MC12 GT1. Lamborghini showed off its race-bred side too, with the Diablo SV-R and Monaco GP pace car Countach LP400S.

Rounding things out were precision examples from Pagani, Abarth, Koenigsegg, Porsche, and even a Mercedes-Benz C11 Group C prototype—because when it comes to performance, Italy draws the world to its door.

A Cultural and Automotive Event Like No Other

What separates FuoriConcorso from more formal concours events is its immersive, youthful energy. Yes, the cars are incredible, but so are the backdrops, the conversations with industry legends, the fashion, and the carefully curated chaos of it all. From design panels to brand takeovers, every square foot of Villa del Grumello and Sucota offered something to ignite a gearhead’s imagination.
